Documents to be carried at the time of Interview

1. Your valid passport and previously issued passports
2. The DS-160 confirmation page with barcode
3. VFS appointment letter
4. H, L, and other petition-based visa applicants may bring copies of the I-797, I-129 and other petition-related documents
5. F, M students must bring the SEVIS receipt and I-20.
6. J exchange visitors must bring the SEVIS receipt and DS-2019

NEW USA VISA PROCESS – APPLICABLE W.E.F. 26th SEPT’12

As per US embassy in India the process to apply for US Visa under different categories is changed w.e.f. 26th Sept’ 2012. Earlier we used to get the bar code & DS-160 online form done at any point of to schedule the Appointment to obtain the visa but now the whole process has been changed which is described as under:

1. Log onto the website  www.ustraveldocs.com/in
2. Create your profile (login id & password)
3. Complete the DS-160 carefully as the Id created once for the passport will neither be cancelled nor refreshed. Any correction or modification will be done only by US travel coordinator / helpline STRICTLY VIA EMAIL.
4. After completion of DS-160 online form, go to “PAY VISA FEES” option & choose AXIS BANK / CITIBANK .
5. You will get a CGI Reference Sheet with CGI No. (12 digit code) & the amount to be deposited in Chosen Bank.
6. CGI sheet, Passport Copies of First & Last Page, Observation/Correction Page, (if-any) & DS-160 Confirmation Page  to carry  directly to bank and deposit the said Fees.
7. The Bank, against this CGI No. will issue a BANK REFERENCE NUMBER which will be used to schedule Appointment.
8. Applicant to schedule appointment again through the above stated website. The applicant shall be issued 2 appointment dates (One for submission of Documents with BIOMETRICS & second will be for interview). In case the applicant has got the interview waiver then he/she needs to take only one appointment i.e. for Biometrics and submission of documents).
